Hello,

Great tool, thank you.

Question, though: When I set a particular field to be "Read Only" it makes it disappear from the Edit and Create form.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this ?

Hi,
I use the tool to move a status choice field not to display in new form.

But the field is always set back to required and hence not been removed from new form page.

Is this a bug or is that I doing something wrong ?

Please help.

On the SharePoint Tips Utility Pack, Lists Management, Change Field Settings, where is the application grabbing the "XML Schema" from for a selected field in a list?

I was changing some fields to be visibile/invisible on the NewForm.aspx for the Help Desk SharePoint application template (Fab 40) and somehow the field definition showing on the Utility Pack got out of synch with the schema.xml.

Hi Ishai,

No matter what I try to do or what URL I provide I receive an Unhandled Exception error. I have posted the details below.

I have sufficient rights to the SQL server, am running the utility Pack from the Central Admin Server and am a Site Collection Admin. Do I need to be logged in as the Sharepoint Setup account or similar?

I am accessing MyProfile page of My site.I want to retrieve the user name whose My profile page is being accessed.One option is I can retrieve 'account name' parameter from url.Whenever I access the owner of My Profile page in a webpart placed on it,I get user as NT AUTHORITY.Whenever I access the owner of My Home page in a webpart,I get proper currently logged in user. Is there any SharePoint API - or other mechanism - which exists from which one can obtain the identity of the user who's SharePoint My Site/My Profile page is being visited ?

When running the Utility Pack on a MOSS server (no SP1 installed), I am trying to set the property of some fields in a Custom List. I get the above error message whenever I try and modify a Lookup field (which is a Lookup of another Custom List). Other fields (e.g. Single Line of Text) can be changed fine.

The error dialog pops up when I just select this field name from the 'Choose Field' dialog. The account I am using is in the Owners group for the entire Portal and this particular site. Through the browser I can see fields and change things.

I an only able to test this with one Login as that's all I have access to on this server. However on another server (Dev), I can set the properties for these fields fine. I just can't do it in the Test environment.

Any suggestions?
